Conservation Forest

Conservation Forest is incredibly special. An area of 7,4 hectares, it becomes a home for iconic species including fauna that are Borneo Orangutan (Pongo Pygmaeus) and Bekantan (Nasalis Larvatus) and flora that is Iron Wood Plant (Eusideroxylon zwageri).


Pongo Pygmaeus also known as Orangutan, according to the IUCN Redlist protection status, it belongs into "endangered". Based on the 2013 Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), Borneo Orangutan is included in the Appendix I list. It becomes a protected fauna as per UU No. 5 of 1990 on Conservation of Biological Resources and Their Ecosystem, PP No. 7 of 1999 on Preservation of Plant and Animal Species, and PP No. 8 of 1999 on the Use of Wild Plants and Animals.
