City forest is also a home for several types of protected fauna. Method of fauna data collection uses direct and indirect observation (footprints, scratches, nests and body parts such as skin, feathers) obtained in the forest. The type of animals in the City Forest consists of four classes that are the class of mammals, reptiles, insects and aves. Within the forest, we can see orangutan nests and many species of birds, insects, butterflies, millipedes, dragonflies, ants, frogs and spiders.
Only a small number of recorded animals were identified including mammals, reptiles and aves. The mammal species identified are Orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus), Gibbon (Hylobates muelleri), Long-Tailed Monkey (Macaca fascicularis), Wild Boar (Sus barbatus) and Squirrel (Tupaia sp). The reptile species identified are Python (Phyton reticulatus), Cobra (Naja sputarix), Monitor Lizard (Veranus salvator) and Lizard (Mabouya multifasciatta). While the type of aves identified include Black Eagle (Ictinaetus malayensis), Bondol Eagle (Haliastur indus), Crow (Corvus enca), Perkutut (Geopelia striata), Big Bubut (Centropus sinensis), and Deer Woodpecker (Celeus brachyurus).
